I'll be home for Christmas. It is a Christmas Carol that has always made me think of our service men and women who are protecting us and sacrificing their time at home for the country that they love. It also makes me think about the everyday heroes who work their Christmases, the police, fire fighters, nurses and doctors. This year while I still think about all of them I also think about a very special young woman. Growing up in Clay, AL I was able to get to know most of the people I grew up with pretty well. It was still a small town. I remember when the Houston family moved just down the street. This sweet family became neighbors, then friends and then family. The natural progression of a relationship, the family that we choose. I remember when they moved to Trussville and we have all remained close. This family is one that would do anything for anyone.
